Pasta with Swiss Chard

Pasta with Swiss Chard

Whenever I eat swiss chard, kale, or a leafy green I genuinely feel healthier. Pairing swiss chard with pasta is one of the most satisfying dishes to make. Swiss chard is part of the beet family. I use the whole chard.

It also takes under 30 minutes :D

Ingredients

Swiss Chard

Pasta (I like using a pasta that the swiss chard can grip onto, like farfalle. The one pictured here is gemelli)

Olive Oil

Garlic

Onion

Parmesan

Salt and Pepper

Prep

Wash your Swiss chard with a salad spinner. Separate the leaves from the stems. Chop the stems thinly. The leaves can be cut more roughly.

Sauté a chopped onion for 10 minutes on low heat in olive oil until soft. Add the Swiss chard stems, and crushed garlic.

Cook your pasta in salty water. While its cooking, add the chard leaves, and a little pasta water.

Scoop your pasta directly from the boiling water into the swiss chard onion mix.

Remove from the heat. Add grated parmesan cheese, red chili pepper flakes, salt, and more pasta water if needed.
